Rock climbing is gaining in popularity these days, with some rock climbers making national news here in the States. If you’ve ever thought about giving it a try, the Rocky Mountains are the place to go. There are quite a few groups willing to take you for a climb, and here are some of the best.
Aspen Adventures is located only 15 minutes outside of Aspen and offers guided tours to one of the best climbing spots in the Rockies, Independence Pass. The granite cliffs here cater to every skill level so you won’t have to worry about not being able to finish a route. The guides are all AMGA-trained so you’ll be in safe hands.
Rocky Mountain Ventures is a guide group in northern Colorado offering trips for all experience levels. They have eight-plus-hour day trips, partial trips and shorter two-hour adventures depending on your availability. They also provide all of the gear for you and the trips are more affordable the more people you get to tag along.
Colorado Mountain School is a professional mountain guide service with locations in Boulder and Estes Park. We recommend the Boulder location if you can get there since they take you to climb the Flatirons, which is one of the coolest spots in the country. They have more classes than most guides ranging from beginner safety lessons to full-on climbing expeditions.
Pricing varies by outfit so be sure to check their websites or call ahead for details.
