Affordable European carrier Ryanair announced it will offer budget accommodation choices starting Oct. 1. Ryanair Rooms will feature hotel guestrooms, hostels, bed and breakfasts, villas and more at low prices. Currently, Ryanair is seeking hospitality partners for the new endeavor. The airline will end its accommodations partnership with Booking.com Sept. 30.
“Ryanair’s low fares revolutionized air travel for Europe’s passengers — now with Ryanair Rooms, we’re going to transform booking accommodation,” said Kenny Jacobs, CMO, Ryanair. “Launching on Oct. 1, Ryanair Rooms will offer consumers the biggest range of accommodation, including hotels, hostels, B&Bs, homestays and villas, via the Ryanair.com website, but all with the same lowest price we guarantee with our flights.”
Ryanair also as of recently offers car rentals and is rumored to have a holiday booking program up its sleeve.
“More and more customers are looking to Ryanair for products other than flights, and we see this progression towards Ryanair.com becoming the Amazon of air travel,” added Jacobs. “It also echoes the change in demand from customers for different types of accommodation, which in turn will be reflected by the varied range Ryanair Rooms will offer — from 5-star hotel rooms to independent homestay.”
