The annual Fiesta Old Town Cinco de Mayo returns to San Diego for its 39th year on Saturday, April 30, 10 a.m.–10 p.m., and Sunday, May 1, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Old Town transforms into the largest Cinco de Mayo celebration in California, spanning seven blocks with a bustling mercado and artisans; décor; dining options; craft margaritas; a cantina garden; and performances. Colorful textiles, artwork and traditional crafts add to the feast for the senses, alongside delicious food and drink specials.

In 2022, two returns ensure the celebration will be a fiesta like no other. The crowd-favorite Lucha Libre wrestling stage will allow attendees to cheer on masked luchadores from the sidelines. Café Coyote Stage also makes a comeback with a lineup including local bands, mariachis, ballet folklorico, flamenco and more. Street performances and roaming mariachis enhance the mercado experience.

All proceeds from the free fiesta benefit the Historic Old Town Community Foundation, which provides partners with opportunities to support development of curriculum materials, outreach and interactive educational programming.
