When speaking with locals about places to eat in Nuuk, I was repeatedly directed to Sarfalik. I figured that meant I had to give it a try.
After tasting the food I can easily see why it’s so beloved by the community. Sarfalik is located in the biggest hotel in Nuuk, so it’s not hard to find. The menu here changes with the season, I’m told, but there are a few staples. The chef does like to focus on innovation, though, so there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to have the same thing twice.
The waiter, who might’ve also been a cook, was pleasant and had great suggestions. His enthusiasm was infectious and I enjoyed my time spent here because of him.
The atmosphere is relaxing and a tad on the fancy side, so that was nice. For my meal, I decided to be adventurous and tried the reindeer. It was delicious. There is also a seven-course taking menu available but, at just less than $100, I couldn’t justify the expense at the time.
The views here over Nuuk are also beautiful. Overall, I had a great experience at Sarfalik and would definitely return if I ever visit the city again. Kudos to the owners.
