Tips / Destination

Whether you have young children, you are a college student or you are just young at heart, visiting Walt Disney World is a wonderful vacation. However, long lines and many choices can turn your fairytale vacation into a confusing nightmare quickly. Follow these tips for a hassle-free trip to the most popular amusement park in the world.

Make use of an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. Plan your Disney vacation with less stress by booking with a vacation planner. The best part is, this service is entirely free of charge — vacation planners are paid on commission by Disney, so you will not pay any extra fee at all.

Check to see what the most crowded days at Disney will be before planning your vacation. Mickey Views created a handy crowd calendar for guests to see what days are busiest. For the best luck, try visiting in September or April if possible, as the crowds will be fairly low and almost all of the rides (including water parks) will be open.

Invest in a Magic Band. In addition to housing your park admission, the Magic Band allows you to charge food and drinks to your card and gets you several built-in fast passes to skip ride lines. They are complimentary for resort guests, and cost $12.95 otherwise.

Check out the lesser-known light shows. The Kiss Goodnight is a short farewell to Magic Kingdom for guests approximately half an hour after the park’s official close time. Similarly, The Electric Water Pageant is a bright water show that takes place on Bay Lake outside of Magic Kingdom. The fact that neither are publicized means you will get a more intimate viewing.

Whether or not you are staying at a Disney Resort, they are each worth checking out in their own right. Disney’s Polynesian Resort is a beautiful beachside paradise with a scenic jogging trail, while the Animal Kingdom Lodge has stunning wild scenery and delicious food.

Consider combining your visit to Walt Disney World with a Disney Cruise. Disney even owns its own private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay. Combining the two Disney adventures can make your overall experience even better.

Disney has many offbeat souvenirs, such as pins you can trade with cast members, pressed pennies and books for character signatures. Best of all, if any piece of merchandise breaks while you are at the park, Disney World will replace it for free.

Platform Helps Remote Workers, Business Travelers Find Work-Friendly Hotels

If you’ve ever attempted to work on the go — not necessarily for a business trip, but just because your job offers the flexibility of remote working — you may have struggled with working from your hotel room. Your options are typically plugging your laptop in next to a tiny in-room table, if you’re lucky, or you’re stuck answering emails from your hotel bed — hardly conducive to productivity.
