As Dry January and sober tourism continue to rise in popularity, Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel and its SIN rooftop crafted a Sober Sips alcohol-free cocktail menu.
“What started as the Dry January movement has fueled a drastic lifestyle change across all age groups, including millennials and Gen-Z. More and more people are choosing not to drink alcohol but still want to be part of the social experience,” said Brian Gonzalez Fernandez, head mixologist, SIN. “With Sober Sips, I wanted to be able to give all our guests that exhilarating feeling of being part of something bigger than themselves, of connection and celebration.”
Sober Sips boasts non-alcoholic versions of the rooftop bar’s signature libations, which center around the themes of sin and desire. Gonzalez Fernandez uses natural, healthful ingredients and gives priority to high-quality sober spirits and dealcoholized wines, like French Bloom Le Blanc. Each of the alcohol-free drinks are crafted with the same technique as other cocktails to get the flavor profile and texture just right.
Creations include Forbidden Nectar, with sober whiskey, miso, caramel yogurt and carrot; and The Temptress, boasting sober gin, sober amaretto, raspberry, lemon, matcha and foam. A menu of light bites is also on offer.
SIN is open Wednesday–Sunday, 5 p.m.–1 a.m.
