Nothing beats summer in New York City. If you’re looking for something to do in the next few months, consider these events around town.
Shakespeare in the Park
When: May 27–Aug. 23
Where: Central Park
What: Public Theater stages this theatrical program every year to great acclaim, and has featured performances from celebrated actors like Meryl Streep and Denzel Washington.
Jazz Age Lawn Party
When: June 13–14 and Aug. 15–16
Where: Governors Island
What: The Jazz Age lives on nearly 100 years later through New York’s annual Lawn Party on Governors Island. The party looks like it’s straight out of The Great Gatsby, except much more family friendly.

What: Held in the MoMA PS1 courtyard, Warm Up is the museum’s month-long concert series that brings a wide spectrum of forward-thinking artists. Past performers include Blaqstarr, Laraaji and Derrick May.
4th of July Fireworks

Waterfight NYC
When: July TBA

What: Pretty self-explanatory — like Songkran in Central Park, come armed with a water gun and cool off from the New York Summer.
FringeNYC
When: Aug 12–28
