There are tons of exciting sites and attractions to see in Manama if you know where to look.
Begin your day at the Qalat al Bahrain, an epic fort designed by the Portuguese that rests on the outskirts of the city. From here, you’ll find ancient architecture and loads of information about the history of war in the area, as well as an amazing view of the Manama skyline.
Nearby you’ll find the Bahrain National Museum, which contains numerous artifacts and artwork from both the region and around the world. Back toward the center of town lies the enormous Al-Fatih Mosque, one of the largest Muslim mosques in the country. The architecture here is absolutely stunning.
If you’re up for a little excitement make your way to the Bahrain International Circuit track to watch the races. These are car races, not camels, but still a lot of fun to see.
Finally, you’ll want to cool off after spending so much time in the sun and there’s no better place for that than the Lost Paradise of Dilmun Water Park. The water slides are epic and there are numerous games to be played where you can get wet and cool down. It makes for the perfect place to unwind after a long day of exploring in the desert sun.
