Though summer is behind us and fall is in full swing, it’s still important to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. While you may already have a moisturizer with SPF or sunscreen that you use on a regular basis, there are plenty of other types of sun protection products that you may not know about. Here are cool everyday products that all have something in common: They add extra protection from the sun.
Clothing
From their Ruche Swim Shirt ($85) for women to their Aqua Swim Trunks ($59.50) for men, Coolibar has a wide range of swimming necessities with an Ultraviolet Protection Factor. The brand is known for bringing Australia’s trend of sun protective clothing to the States. Each item they sell, including their swimwear items, has a UPF of 50, which is the highest possible rating.
Italia Sun Hat by Sun Precautions: $69.95
This is just one of the brand’s stylish, SPF-infused hats and it is made with 100+ SPF Impervious cotton to protect your face from harmful UV rays.
Makeup
Shiseido UV Protective Liquid Foundation SPF 42: $36
Though there are plenty of foundations out there with SPF protection, this one takes it a step further by being water-, oil- and sebum -esistant and is “formulated with SuperVeil-UV 360 and Profense CEL technology to deeply moisturize, protect from UV rays and provide anti-aging benefits for youthful-looking skin.”
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15: $22.50
Even your lips need protection from the sun and this lip balm will give you just that while also moisturizing your lips and adding a pop of color.
Nail Polish
Zoya Armor Top Coat: $10
Though it’s a little surprising that a nail polish would contain any type of sun protection, it makes sense that the UV block would help polish last longer without fading or chipping.
Hair
Bobbi Brown Beach Leave-In Hair Conditioner SPF 15: $15
Again, we don’t usually think of hair when we think of things that need to be protected. Actually, what this product really protects from the sun is your scalp and by doing so, adds to the softness of your hair.
Huile Celeste: $40
A part of Kerastase’s Sun-Exposed line, this is a hairspray that “limits the negative effects of sun, chlorine and salt water while adding shine.” It does so by way of UVA and UVB filters and “highly reflective gold micro-particles.”
