Cabo San Lucas may get all of the hype when it comes to spring break on Mexico’s west coast, but nearby Mazatlan is perhaps an even more alluring destination. A mere two-hour flight from Mexico City, this pacific city in Sinaloa is brimming with lush palm trees, sandy beaches and ideal surfing waves.
Daytime Activities
The Blue Agave Tequila factory tour is by far the most famous attraction in Mazatlan, allowing visitors to sample and learn the history of Mexico’s favorite liquor. Another popular place for out-of-towners to check out is Stone Island. Many tours offer horseback riding trips along the coconut groves and long beaches of this area.
Bars And Nightclubs
While Mazatlan is the known birthplace of the first Señor Frog’s, there are a number of other nightlife venues throughout the city. The Sumbawa Beach Club offers frequent foam and glow parties, while the Bora Bora Club allows dancing on the bar top and in their elevated cages. Across the street from the Bora Bora is Valentino’s, a cliff-side nightclub with three levels and transparent floors. Spring breakers can dance all night long with the bar’s early morning closing time of 4 a.m.
