The Spanish seaside town of Sitges has made a name for itself as Spain’s gay-friendly holiday epicenter. As one of the world’s first nations to legalize gay marriage, where better to have a stag party before getting hitched than in sunny Spain?
Sitges is packed with sun-drenched beaches, booming bars and gorgeous centuries-old architecture. Although charming and quaint, Sitges comes alive at night with a thriving club and bar scene. The coastal town, just 40 minutes from Barcelona by train, offers plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind during the day, and then turn up the heat come nightfall. A weekend in Sitges is not complete without some serious sun time at La Platja de la Bossa Rodona. In advance, book a tour on a catamaran where you can bring your own beverages and enjoy a day on the Mediterranean Sea.
Take a break from the parties and stroll through Old Town Sitges where you’ll find winding streets, cozy cafes and kitschy shops.
When the sun sets in Sitges, head out to the copious clubs that line the beaches and streets, like Bonita Bonita, Bears’ Bar or Queenz. If the timing is right, line up your stag party with Sitges’ famous Gay Pride festival, normally the second-to-last weekend in June.
