While you might not think of “luxury” and “farm” in the same sentence, that’s exactly the combo this new resort offers, just outside of Nashville, in Franklin, Tennessee.
Southall is designed as a new take on Southern hospitality, with a working farm on 300-plus acres, offering more than 60 guestrooms and suites, a spa, dining venue, standalone cottages and more. During their stays, guests can enjoy educational opportunities, wellbeing rituals and adventure.

“Southall is intended to be a place of gathering and connection through food and nature,” said Tyler Brown, senior vice president of culinary and agriculture, Southall. “It’s a place where curiosity leads to learning, where learning leads to understanding and where understanding leads to new possibilities and a deeper, more meaningful experience.”
He added, “We take both pleasure in, and feel a deep responsibility for, stewardship over this land, and hope that by creating a place that brings people together in nature, we’ll transcend the limits we set for ourselves and endeavor to create something entirely unexpected and positive for the future.”

The farm itself boasts 1,300 apple trees and 15,000 square feet of hydroponic and traditional conservatory greenhouses. There are formal kitchen gardens, a seed-saving program and lots of room for foraging. Guests can enjoy tours of the apiary, farm and jammery. The culinary program takes full advantage of the land’s abundant harvest, as does the spa. Activities include hiking, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding and more.
