Destinations

If your absolute favorite way to exercise or even just sightsee is via bicycle, then you’ve likely taken a destination’s cycling friendliness into account before booking a trip. Well, leave the research for your next trip to the pros.

A new study from Aventon Bikes revealed the destinations around the world that are most cycling-friendly. The study used a range of data including number of people living with low-stress cycling access to destinations, low-stress cycling access to jobs and educational institutions, cycling access to essential services like hospitals and libraries, cycling access to retail, cycling access to recreational facilities, cycling access to other transit like bus stops, total length of low-stress cycling networks, and total length of high-stress cycling networks.

So which destinations came out on top? The top 10 most cycling-friendly destinations according to the study include Mackinac Island, Michigan; Provincetown, Massachusetts; Harbor Springs, Michigan; The Hague, Netherlands; Springdale, Utah; Washburn, Wisconsin; Fort Yates, North Dakota; Paris, France; Crested Butte, Colorado; and Brussels, Belgium.

“If you want to avoid stressful rides through car-clogged streets or marathon cycles just to get to the shops, you’ll want to check out these 10 cycle-friendly cities,” said Aventon Bikes rep John Vinton.
