In the modern travel world of bucket lists and country counts, some travelers are seeking more desolate and less-visited locations for their adventures abroad. One such location includes the grasslands of Africa where travelers can get in touch with their natural proclivities. Travel experts predict Tanzania, in particular, will see the largest increase in visitors during the next 10 years, a number expected to reach 1.6 million.
In reaction to this speculative statistic, Travelport — a travel commerce organization —teamed up with the Tanzania tourism industry to boost their infrastructure and make the nation a more visitor-friendly destination. The increase in technology and facilities will also increase the availability of jobs in Tanzania by nearly 12 percent. Travel agents, tour guides and other positions in the travel industry will be open for locals.
Bordered by Kenya to the north and Mozambique to the south, Tanzania sits in eastern Africa on the coast of the Indian Ocean. The African nation is home to Serengeti National Park and Kilimanjaro National Park, the latter of which features Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro. A popular destination for adventure seekers, Tanzania offers hiking, safaris, camping and beaches, allowing visitors to view and experience the world in a more natural sense.
