Mealsharing.com, a website connecting travelers and locals over home-cooked meals, launched its second annual ThanksSharing initiative to bring together thousands of travelers around the world for Thanksgiving dinner so no one eats alone.
Ideal for those traveling in the United States as well as Americans aboard, the ThanksSharing tradition supports food and togetherness for the classic American holiday. Mealsharing.com enables users to either host or attend a ThanksSharing meal in more than 450 cities around the globe and also allows hosts to raise money for local food banks.
To host a ThanksSharing event, hosts can create a meal on the website detailing what they are cooking and how many people can come to their table. Hosts can also set an optional “chip-in” price per person to help offset the cost of ingredients. With ThanksSharing selected as the type of meal, guests worldwide can easily search and join a dinner event.
The website also includes a special ThanksSharing webpage for those looking for an event to join, featuring a potluck option to support community involvement.
“Last year’s ThanksSharing helped people enjoy a meal with others who otherwise would have been eating alone,” says Jay Savsani, founder, MealSharing.com. “As a popular celebration that promotes people coming together over food, ThanksSharing does just that — whether a person is traveling, alone for the holiday or simply wants a different experience — ThanksSharing is helping connect people over home-cooked meals for a special occasion.”
To host a ThanksSharing meal or join locals over a home-cooked meal this Thanksgiving, visit the website.
