Trends / Food & Drink

London’s The Berkeley transforms into a new foodie destination each season, and this winter sees the hotel open The Bishop at The Berkeley, the hotel’s first-ever pub pop-up. The new pop-up pub welcomes guests Wednesday–Sunday, with a menu highlighting classic pub dishes reimagined The Berkeley way.

Think fried pickles and blue cheese dressing, crispy pork scratchings and black pudding croquettes with house-made HP sauce for small bites. The pop-up pub’s towering, house-made burgers plan to steal the show, however, with the Angus beef burger with a fried egg sure to curb even the most discerning of guests. Other hearty dishes to consider include pies; slow-braised, salt marsh lamb shank over mashed potatoes; fish pie; battered fish and chips; and crispy chicken Kyiv. Save room for dessert, as the pub’s sticky toffee pudding and vanilla ice cream and molten chocolate stout cake promise mouth-watering experiences.

Of course, no pub can call itself a pub without its selection of drinks. The Bishop at The Berkeley offers draft beers personally sourced from a Sussex brewery by The Berkeley team. Opt for The Bishop lager and pale ale, enjoyed best with the pub’s hand-cut crisps.

The Bishop will also host daily specials, including Wellington Wednesday, rabbit and prawn pie on Saturday, and a special menu on Sunday.
