If you’re one of those people who enjoys the great outdoors, but isn’t really interested in unplugging while you camp, the Biolite KettleCharge is for you.

The KettleCharge provides 10-watts of on-demand power for any of your devices. Need a quick charge on your phone? It provides a handy slot to plug in your mobile charger. You can also hook up USB devices, tablets and lights. This thing can keep you up and running no matter where you are, as long as you have access to water and fire.

The KettleCharge works simply by using heat and water. The bottom of the device contains a thermoelectric generator that helps convert the two into energy. It works by filling the bottom stainless steel container with water, which serves as the cold side of the TEG, then placing it on top of a heat source. Once the water boils it generates electricity that is sent up to the Power Handle of the device, giving you 10 watts of energy to use on any device.

You can use just about any concentrated heat source you have available, from a campfire to a portable stove. Afterwards, the water you boiled can be used for cooking or drinking.

The Biolite KettleCharge is currently available at a price of $149.95. Learn more at biolitestove.com.

Where to Find the Best Stargazing Spots in Ireland

This year, the Northern Lights put on quite the display across Ireland, but don’t think these lights are the only thing you can see in Ireland. In fact, many spots across the country provide some of the best opportunities to stargaze thanks to low levels of light pollution. Ireland has three International Dark Sky Parks and even more spots which, although not accredited, are worth a visit for anyone wishing to see the sky in its unfiltered form.
