Hotel

The owners of The Dreamer Hostels originally set up shop in the city of Santa Marta, before opening a second hostel on the beautiful beach of Palomino, a little way down the coastal highway. They managed to beat the rush to develop this unspoiled stretch of Caribbean coastline, and were one of the pioneers of tourism in the area.

Standards of service and cleanliness are high throughout the complex, which features dormitory rooms, private rooms, a swimming pool and a full-service restaurant. Guests can lounge around either inside the hostel complex or on the beach itself, and will find themselves forgetting all of their cares thanks to the relaxed atmosphere. Evenings are spent reading, playing pool or making the most of the hostel’s generous happy hour, and the isolation makes for a communal atmosphere among the guests.

For those of you who prefer to be a bit more active, there are day trips to go tubing down a nearby river, and The Dreamer is perfectly situated to act as a jumping off point to the nearby Tayrona National Park and the wilder beaches of Cabo de la Vela to the north.

The Dreamer offers a perfect mix of relaxation and activities, and the location is simply incredible. One important point to be aware of is that the sea is treacherous, and strong currents can make life difficult for even the strongest swimmers.
