That small screen just isn’t cutting it for you. You want to see your travel photos displayed in all their glory, watch The Cranes are Flying so you can appreciate the cinematography — but you’re obviously not going to lug around a projector or TV. Luckily, there are a number of pocket-sized projectors on the market that will turn your smartphone into a full-sized screen, no matter where you are.

The Smartphone Pocket Projector from Hammacher Schlemmer

This powerful little guy has 55 lumens and 720p resolution. It plays audio but also allows audio to play from the device’s speakers. It can play from smartphones, USB or micro SD. It has a 90-minute battery. It’s not a cheap toy, however, at $269.95.

The Pocket Projector Pro from Brookstone

But that’s nothing compared to Brookstone’s $500 Pocket Projector Pro. You’re getting what you pay for, however, as this guy has 200 lumens, HD output and a rechargeable battery.

Mini Portable LED Projector from Excelvan

The Excelvan Mini Portable LED Projector is a highly-rated, cheaper option that connects with just about anything you can think of. It also has built-in speakers and a remote control for $79.

Or, if none of that is doing it for you, check out this easy, cardboard DIY projector from Uncommon Goods. It’s definitely your cheapest option at $27, but it’s not HD.There are other portable smartphone projectors and they all offer similar features. So when choosing, it really comes down to price and quality.
