Toad & Co’s attractive Modern Travel line aims at appealing to the active traveler, the type of person who wants to look great and feel comfortable whether at the beach, on the plane or on the trail.
The women’s High Tide Short is a nice addition to the line. The beachy, surf-style shorts are perfect for the active wearer, whether you’re at a lakeside barbecue or dozing in a hammock in a park. They’re slim-fitting but made with lightweight, stretchy fabric (a poly/spandex blend) so they stay comfortable and cool while you’re active. Further, they’re quick-drying, so you can leave them on for water sports but avoid getting too soggy.
The fabric is also rated UPF 40+, so you’re protected when you’re outside for a long time. The clean look of the shorts is assisted by the fact there are no front pockets; it’s a bit of a convenience trade-off for the slim look of the shorts. However, the shorts do come with a decent-sized zippered pocket at the back left, ideal for holding a car and house key.
Overall, these are great shorts for an active summer, despite the lack of large pockets.
