Planning a ski trip? If you’re traveling on a budget, a new study from Upgraded Points is here to help. The travel company compared 50 ski destinations around the country and contrasted them based on factors such as daily lift ticket prices, average area Airbnb nightly prices, flight costs, car rental costs and more.
“Skiing is one of the more fun and exciting ways to embrace winter, but the costs can quickly add up, especially during peak season,” said Keri Stooksbury, editor-in-chief, Upgraded Points. “We hope our study can inform travelers about which ski towns offer the best bang for your buck so they can enjoy their favorite slopes without the financial stress.”
So, which ski towns promise the most affordable vacations and which are best avoided due to high prices?
The study found the most affordable ski towns include Missoula, Montana; Bellingham, Washington; Logan, Utah; Spearfish, South Dakota; Bozeman, Montana; and Palmerton, Pennsylvania.
On the other end of the spectrum, the most expensive ski towns were Park City, Utah; Truckee, California; Mammoth Lakes, California; Beaver Creek, Colorado; South Lake Tahoe, California; and Aspen, Colorado.
