While Traverse City might be best known for its cherry crops, the destination is also home to many farms boasting fall fruit. Family-owned Gallagher Farms hosts pumpkin and apple picking. Don’t leave without sampling cider and pumpkin donuts from the on-site bakery. Head to Rennie Orchards, where visitors may pick from 19 varieties of apples. Jacob’s Farm, a 40-acre centennial farm, features an elaborate 10-acre corn maze each fall, as well as a u-pick orchard, bar, restaurant and live music. Myrtle & Maudes farm hosts exciting fall activities for the entire family, including a pumpkin patch, tractor rides, fall treats, a children’s play area, bonfires, football games screened outdoors, vintage items for sale and more.

Visit Traverse City’s cideries for a boozy taste of fall. Townline Ciderworks has served up cider for 20 years. Enjoy a sample of the award-winning varieties in the taproom. Souls Squeeze Cellars offers both cider and wine made with local ingredients. Suttons Bay Ciders boasts beautiful lakefront views from its tasting room.

Sail on a Recently Revamped Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship

At one point, the Royal Caribbean Oasis-class ships were the largest in the world. While that’s not the case any longer (other Royal Caribbean ships have surpassed them), these ships are still pretty impressive — and, with recent renovations, they’re becoming even more so, as can be seen with the revamped Allure of the Seas. Ready to set sail in April 2025 with a bevy of new features, the ship is getting a $100 million makeover.
