Foodies visiting Rhode Island in the near future will want to make tracks for this luxury boutique hotel. The Beatrice, located in downtown Providence, recently joined with Hope & Main, the state’s first food business incubator, within the Paolino Properties building in Providence’s historic district.
The 5,000-square-foot incubator showcases local food-related entrepreneurs, allowing those entrepreneurs to build their businesses without taking on the standard cost of a traditional brick and mortar. The incubator not only offers these entrepreneurs’ products to the public (and includes a café), but also provides entrepreneurs with valuable resources such as commercial kitchen space. Products and makers are all from Rhode Island, but come with diverse backgrounds and international flair, reflected in the wide array of items on display.
“Our goal is to offer authentic experiences that are true to the tastes of Rhode Island and the diversity of the people that live here,” said Joseph R. Paolino Jr., developer and owner, The Beatrice. “The Hope & Main Downtown Makers Marketplace is the perfect addition to the 100 Westminster Street campus. My vision for the property is to be an all-encompassing space where corporate tenants, members of the downtown community and hotel guests can eat, work, play and stay.”
