You’ve had a trip to Africa, more specifically, an East African trip sitting on your travel list for ages, but you’ve yet to actually commit. Reservations over securing a good stay and experience while also remaining eco-conscious might have delayed your decision. Now, Brilliant Africa, a travel company specializing in bespoke trips to the East African region, curated a brand-new, eco-conscious itinerary combining sustainability with adventure.
This 10-day trip brings guests to some of the most unique parts of Tanzania. Beginning with a flight to Kilimanjaro, upon landing, guests are taken away to a garden chalet in a protected area of Arusha, boasting views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. After a day of relaxing, head into Lake Manyara National Park to walk amongst dense woodland and soda lake before enjoying a picnic. This park is known for its unique tree-climbing lion population, as well as some of the largest baboon groups in the country. Guests also might have the chance to spot elephant herds and flamingos.
Other highlights of the trip include Ngorongoro Crater, a mountain-biking adventure, a Maasai-guided hike to volcanoes, visits to Olduvai Gorge and Museum, time in Serengeti National Park, and an e-powered 4×4 game drive through Grumeti Game Reserve to spot wildlife.
Stays include Bashay Rift Lodge, Olduvai Camp, Togoro Plains Camp and Grumeti Hills. On the final day of the trip, guests are transferred to a nearby airstrip by Togoro Plains Camp before heading back to Arusha and then Kilimanjaro Airport.
Prices are $4,900 per person based on two guests in shared accommodations in low season (April and May 2024). Learn more about this exciting trip here.
