Between the plane tickets, lodging and maintaining family peace, planning your dream wedding might be feeling a bit more stressful than necessary. But, since you’re having a destination wedding, there are a few more things added onto your wedding checklist.
We’ve prepared a list of wedding destination must-haves that don’t come with a luxury sticker price. Armed with this list of top three must-haves for any destination, your celebration will be the perfect destination affair.
The Dress
When is the last time you had fun where you were crammed into an overpriced ball gown? Yeah, we thought so. Skip the big dress and choose something that fits the location. If you’re marrying outside, forget the veil and add a fresh flower halo.
Local Wedding Planner
This is the best money you can spend. Finding an experienced professional who is familiar with the area is essential to any destination wedding. A local wedding planner will not only take care of making your big day run smoothly, like dealing with wedding photos and permits, but they have connections with local vendors. Having a local wedding planner’s advice on cost and potential venue options is invaluable.
Pamper Your Guests
Try to make a memorable destination event for your guests at every opportunity. When they arrive at the hotel room, be sure to have a wedding welcome bag waiting for them. Make time for welcome cocktails, provide shade for them at the ceremony, or prep blankets if your guests are fighting the wind at the end of your reception. It’s these little details that make this a destination vacation for them as well.
While there may be little you can do about Uncle Norm clinking the Champagne glass too many times or the pile of Save The Dates still on the kitchen table, you can now at least focus on the pretty things.
