Just because it’s cold in the Windy City, that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on Chicago’s great rooftop bar scene. Visit these four rooftops when you’re in town.

ROOF on theWit

ROOF on theWit was Chicago’s first rooftop bar. The space, 27 floors up, recently underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation. Now it features an open-aired patio with retractable roof, art space and regular events. Weekly POP Sundays feature fun offerings such as Champagne flights, brunch towers and craft cocktails.

VU Rooftop Bar

In the South Loop, VU Rooftop Bar opened just last year. VU sits 22 floors up, with a location next door to McCormick Place and views of downtown and Lake Michigan. Along with a spectacular setting, VU also offers a fantastic menu, with superb brunch offerings, such as a pork belly hash, puff pastry doughnuts and lobster chilaquiles.

Raised

With views of the Chicago River and skyline, Raised is an eclectic, modern bar with fire pits, lots of greenery and outdoor couches. The limited menu includes yummy offerings perfect for a wintery Chicago day, such as tamale stew, coconut red curry noodles, short rib and root veggies and smoked chicken sweet potato cakes.

Offshore

Offshore opened in 2019 as the world’s largest rooftop bar. The space is 52,300 square feet and contains a range of different spaces, all surrounded by glass. Enjoy unprecedented views of Lake Michigan from the bar’s spot atop Navy Pier.
