Over the last few years Airbnb has moved from an alternative lodging option to many people’s first choice for booking a place to stay. Despite its popularity, some people are still new to the service. If you’re using Airbnb for the first time, there are a few things to consider for a successful first stay.
Get a Discount
First-time Airbnb users can get a discount code. If you have friends or family who have Airbnb accounts, ask them to send you their referral. This way, you’ll get $40 off your first stay and they’ll receive a $20 credit. Win-win!
Be Specific
With more than 6 million Airbnb listings worldwide, it’s important to be specific in your search. Beyond your exact dates and number of guests, there are many filters available, including home type, number of rooms and beds, amenities, facilities and property type. The more specific you are, the more likely you’ll find exactly what you want.
Consider the Location
While Airbnb won’t give an exact address before you book, it will provide a general area within a few block radius. Research the city to figure out the neighborhood where you would like to stay to make sure the rental is conveniently located.
Follow the Rules
Once you arrive at the property, make sure you follow the house rules. Your host will let you know of the rules, either in person or in a written manual. Airbnb allows hosts to leave reviews of renters, available for future hosts to see.
