You haven’t experienced the real history of the Titanic until you’ve visited the Titanic Experience in Belfast. Journey through Titanic’s construction in Belfast, the aftermath of the maiden voyage and the continuing worldwide fascination at Titanic Belfast.
The building opened in March 2012, about 100 years after the great ship sank. Its unique design is inspired by water crystals just as they begin to freeze, the eccentric form of icebergs and the timber materials used to build the ship. Exhibitions and displays make up the nine interactive galleries, telling the story of Titanic and shipbuilding in Belfast.
The gallery exhibitions include images from the Harland & Wolff shipyard where Titanic was built, a ride through a re-creation of the Arrol Gantry to experience the sights and sounds of the construction of a ship, a glimpse into the design of the various cabins, a detailed timeline of the night the ship sank including the Morse code call for help, posters from movies about the film and exclusive footage of the ship wreckage displayed on an auditorium floor so guests feel as if they are standing above the ship.
The Titanic Experience is open year-round. Tickets for adults cost about $25. Purchase tickets online for a 5 percent discount.
