Recently rebranded from Horny Toad, Toad & Co. has put out a line of modern travel wear. According to the company, the line is designed for long-haul comfort and is made up of low-maintenance garments. The entire line is versatile, so it can be put to use as active wear or work on a long plane ride. The garments are flattering but hard working, so they allow the wearer to go from the beach or the hiking trail to a casual dinner with ease.
One of the stand-outs is the Solimar Hoodie. Though not a stereotypical hoodie, this garment has a lot going for it. You might miss the cozy, thick material common in cotton hoodies at first blush, but that won’t last long.
This thin garment is essentially a long-sleeve T-shirt with a hood, at least when it comes to weight. But this is a good thing. The hoodie is designed to wick away moisture and odor and the fabric is rated UPF 40+ for sun protection. Impressively, the fabric is made of a type of polyester created from recycled coffee grounds.
The front of the hoodie wraps at the neck for wind protection, though don’t expect to stay super warm in this garment. It’s more designed for a slightly cool day when you’re being active and keeping your body temperature up by moving. It also works great on a plane, when temperature variations are common. It can be tumble-dried, which is always a relief, and it is designed for a loose but flattering fit.
Finally, the garment packs down small and is incredibly lightweight, so it travels well. It doesn’t wrinkle easily, either, so it’s a great companion for long-distance travel.
