Cuba has hundreds of miles of coastline offering some great sand, coral reefs and diving. Here are five of the best spots on the Caribbean island.
Playa Ancon
Situated outside the colonial town of Trinidad, this amazing sandy beach is one of the best on the south coast of the country. It is often named as the most beautiful on the south side.
Cayos Coco and Guillermo
These sandy islands are just a short distance from the mainland, and the shallow waters are perfect for diving and other watersports. After all the exertion, relax on the shore with a refreshing cocktail.
Guardalavaca
Head to the east of the country to take in the beaches at Guardalavaca, near the town of Holguin. Long stretches of sand and warm water make this north coast spot perfect for relaxation.
Cayo Levisa
Found just 90 miles from Havana, Cayo Levisa is perfect for diving and snorkeling. Catch a boat from Palma Rubia to reach the island, which has ample accommodation options.
Varadero
This is arguably Cuba’s most famous beach, just 87 miles east of Havana and with a high concentration of all-inclusive resorts. Don’t let that put you off visiting the beautiful white-sand beaches, offshore reefs and caves.
