The heat may be blazing in the United Arab Emirates, but there are innumerable ways to cool down after sweating under the Arabian sun. Pools, spas and beaches welcome visitors and locals alike, and provide instant refreshment from the hot desert temps. See below for some of the Dubai‘s best beach bets.
Kite Beach/Woollongong Beach
Although not as ideal for sunbathing or swimming, this beach is the perfect spot to marvel in the skyline views. Its name comes from the heaps of kite surfers that sprawl across the waters, contributing to an excellent backdrop for colorful photography.
Mamzar Beach
Rent a barbecue, cook in the open air and take a dip in one of two pools at Mamzer, which is comprised of five separate beach areas. Awarded with the Blue Flag status, Mazmer is a clean beach complete with necessary amenities like changing rooms, restrooms and even cafes and shops.
Russian Beach
If you’re aiming to desert the crowds and have some time to yourself, take a run along Russian Beach where trails run parallel along the water. Have a seat in the sand, but note that there are not as many amenities here as compared with other beaches.
Royal Island Beach Club
The swankiest option on this list comes with an entry fee, but once inside you’ll have at your disposal a ferry ride to the island, private chalets, a restaurant and an overall feeling of luxury and exclusivity.
JBR Beach
This slightly more crowded (but free!) beach is a favorite among tourists who want to be in the middle of the action. Events like concerts attract both visitors and locals, and green pitches provide space to play football or other sports.
