The Chatham Squire in Chatham
Chatham Squire is the true lobsterman’s watering hole of Massachusetts. Most of the seating is centered on the bar, and its low ceilings, along with the walls, are adjourned with hundreds of license plates, creating an interesting aesthetic. The verdict on their chowder: it’s tangy and pairs nicely with a cold beer.
Schooner’s Restaurant in Hull
If you find yourself traveling to Nantasket Beach in Hull, local favorite Schooner’s is the place to check out. For years, their homemade chowder has fed hungry beachgoers looking to let their sunburns heal.
Union Oyster House in Boston
While new seafood eateries may get a lot of buzz, one of the best clam chowder spots in Massachusetts is also the oldest standing restaurant in the country. Union Oyster House, founded in 1826, may be built from bricks older than any other in Boston, but its chowder is always fresh.
