The Norfolk Botanical Garden

The Norfolk Botanical Garden is in the heart of Norfolk. It’s the largest garden in the state with 175 acres of land to explore. The garden has several award-winning collections, including roses and hydrangeas. The garden has an education department that offers a wide variety of programs for children, teens and adults.

 

The Edit J. Carrier Arboretum

Edit J. Carrier Arboretum is located on the campus of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. It’s 125 acres and includes an oak-hickory forest. The gardens are also near Shenandoah, home to Skyline Drive. The garden is free to enter.

 

Williamsburg Botanical Garden

This free garden is open to the public. Situated in Williamsburg, Virginia, this garden boasts great educational and recreational programs. There are 19 different gardens, so grab a map before getting lost amongst the fauna. The facility is open 7 a.m. until sunset.

 

Meadowlark Botanical Gardens

Meadowlark Botanical Gardens sits on 100 acres of land. This is one of the most stunning gardens in the state and many choose to have their wedding under the Atrium each year. There are ponds, gazebos and a bridge in the massive garden. The main collections of fauna focus on plants specific to the area.
