Destinations / Caribbean

The Caribbean is a great destination for family travel. However, with so many islands to choose from, there are some better suited to family travel than others. Consider these islands on your next family vacation to the Caribbean.

Antigua

With plenty of historical attractions, Antigua is a great island to explore with your family. Nelson’s Dockyard National Park is a place to start for learning about the history of the island. There are numerous family-friendly resorts throughout the island ,including the upscale Carlisle Bay.

Bahamas

Located just off the coast of Florida, the Bahamas is a great destination for travel with kids. There’s plenty of family fun to be had whether you like to spend time at a resort or venture to off-site activities. The Atlantis resort features tons of kid-friendly activities, including a 141-acre water park. Check out Pig Beach to see some swimming swine — just be sure to keep an eye on the kids.

Bonaire

Bonaire is a great destination for water-loving families. The island is known for its prime diving and snorkeling opportunities. There are lodging options for all budgets, including resorts, apartments and bed and breakfasts. There are always dives and events planned, so check online to see when you can get some fun in the water.

St. Lucia

Take the family to St. Lucia for an adventurous vacation in one of the Caribbean’s most mountainous islands. Popular activities include hiking, zip lining, exploring the rainforest and horseback riding. There are several all-inclusive ,family-friendly resorts on the island, with kid-focused activities. Don’t miss your opportunity to hike the Pitons on your visit.

U.S. Virgin Islands

The islands of St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas make up this island chain. There are plenty of family-friendly activities on all three islands. Travel from the United States is easy. No passport is required for entrance for U.S. citizens. The U.S. dollar is the official currency on the islands.
