Hike Montjuic or Tibidabo
These fairly short and not-too-strenuous routes reward you with panoramic views of the city and sea once you reach the summits. Once at the top of Montjuic, your journey doesn’t have to end: Follow the path that encircles the castle or set up a picnic under the shady grove behind the castle.
Take a Sailing or Surfing Class
The turquoise Mediterranean waves are yours for the taking! Fulfill your lifelong goal of learning how to surf or sail by attending a class with trained instructors. Schools are located right on the beach.

The Beach
Speaking of the beach, it’s unthinkable to visit Barcelona and not pay the beach a visit. If the crowds at Barceloneta aren’t to your liking, head north to the less-popular beach town of Badalona or south to Castelldefels or Sitges.
Shop the Markets
Barcelona’s open-air markets are legendary. Pick up ingredient’s for a night’s dinner at La Bouqueria just off La Rambla where only the freshest seafood and veggies are sold.
