North Carolina’s Research Triangle isn’t simply home to great healthcare and technological advances, it also houses some of the best food on the East Coast. Next time you find yourself in the heart of the Triangle in Raleigh, here are just a few of the restaurants you should check out.
Bida Manda
This Asian Fusion restaurant brings a taste of Thailand and Laos to the Triangle with some pretty epic flair. The food is spectacular, especially the vegetarian lettuce wraps, and the décor is incredibly relaxing. It’s one of the locals’ favorites.
Angus Barn
This cowboy-themed restaurant has a rustic feel to it and a buzzing atmosphere that has become somewhat world famous. Admittedly it feels somewhat like a Cracker Barrel, but the food here tastes more like fine dining than something out of Grandma’s kitchen. Be sure to try the chocolate chess pie.
Sitti
Sitti is a Mediterranean fusion restaurant with a focus on Lebanese treats located in downtown Raleigh. The beef and lamb shawarma is absolutely to die for while the European-style long table in the center of the restaurant is a great way to meet new people. It’s a fun, casual atmosphere with lots of amazing food.
Poole’s Diner
Once famous for its delectable pies, Poole’s Diner morphed into a place now just as beloved for its delightful main dishes and macaroni and cheese. It’s been around since the end of WWII and serves up some of the best traditional southern food you can find.
The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar
The draw of this unique downhome restaurant is the combo sushi/burger menu that offers a little something for everyone. Whether you’re a fan of Japanese or traditional southern fare this place has you covered, and the fact they’ve divided their focus doesn’t mean they skimp on the taste. Granny’s Southern Pimento Cheese Burger is a must.
