Luanda doesn’t exactly have the best reputation when it comes to fine dining but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few great places to eat. Next time you’re in town be sure to check out these popular joints.
Pimm’s
Pimm’s is a local favorite thanks to a fresh take on Portuguese cuisine with a little bit of Angolan flair. The wine list here is longer than most menus you’ll see and the seafood is easily the best in the city.
Nikki’s House
The aptly name Nikki’s House offers up a unique fusion menu with an even more unique ambience. Each room is designed to invoke a different feeling with some of them showcasing a casual atmosphere with couches and family-style eating, while others are more intimately decorated for date night.
Churrascaria Nandinhos
Churrascaria Nandinhos won’t be winning any awards for its atmosphere, but that’s not what diners flock to this cafeteria-like eatery for anyway. It’s the best place for grilled chicken over coals like Luandans like it.
Chill Out
If you’ve ever dreamt of having your meal served to you right on the beach, in the sand, then Chill Out is the place for you. While more of a club than a restaurant, this place still has some of the best food in town.
Café del Mar
Both laidback and upscale, Café del Mar is the perfect place to enjoy a hearty Sunday breakfast in the city. The views here are the definition of scenic while the food is definitely delicious. The menu varies, but it’s mostly known for excellent seafood.
