Blue Knob Resort
Located in Claysburg, Blue Knob Resort is set on the highest ski mountain in Pennsylvania, offering a vertical drop of 1,072 feet and an elevation of 3,174 feet. Blue Knob features 34 trails divided into beginning, intermediate, advanced intermediate and expert as well as five lifts, glade runs and a terrain park. Rates start from $30 for a five-hour flex pass.
Camelback Mountain Resort
A family-friendly resort in the Poconos, Camelback Mountain Resort features 34 trails set on 166 acres of skiable acreage as well as 16 chair lifts. The resort is one of the only in Pennsylvania to offer 100 percent snowmaking on all acres of terrain. Prices start from $51 midweek for tickets purchased online.
Seven Springs Mountain Resort
Set in Seven Springs, the kid-friendly Seven Springs Mountain Resort offers skiers and snowboarders plenty of shreddable terrain as well as several other amenities for non-skiers. Standing 2,994 feet tall, the mountain offers a vertical drop of 750 feet and 285 acres of skiable terrain, including 33 trails, glade runs, eight terrain parks and 10 chairlifts. Other winter activities include snowshoe and snowmobile tours, tubing, indoor mini golf, indoor bowling and late-night snowcat tours. Tickets start from $58 midweek.
Blue Mountain
Home to Pennsylvania’s highest vertical, Blue Mountain in Palmerton offers some of the state’s longest runs and most varied terrain with 39 slopes of different degrees of difficulty. The resort takes riders up to the top with 16 lifts and also includes six terrain parks. Lift tickets start from $47 for an eight-hour pass purchased online.
Elk Mountain
One of Pennsylvania’s first commercial ski areas, Elk Mountain is nestled in Pennsylvania’s Endless Mountains approximately 30 miles north of Scranton. The resort offers some of the state’s most challenging terrain, featuring 27 trails on 140 skiable acres and exciting glade runs. Lift ticket prices start from $53 for a full weekday ticket.
