Travel to Table Mountain
Cape Town’s expansive beauty is on full display atop Table Mountain and hiking it should be high on your priority list. There are a multitude of trails heading to the peak, some of which take days to traverse, or you can simply hop on an aerial cableway and enjoy the views.
Visit Mandela’s Cell
South Africa would not be the wonderful destination it is if not for the tireless efforts of Nelson Mandela. So it goes without saying that paying a visit to his infamous prison cell and learning all about the man’s battle against apartheid is a must.
Enjoy the Wildlife
Africa tends to bring to mind images of safaris with zebras and lions and tigers, but Cape Town has its fair share of exotic animals, too. The area is home to 98 different species of sharks and even a penguin colony. Hop on in a cage and go for a dive to witness the ocean’s fiercest creatures (and it’s most adorable).
Listen to Some Jazz
Many people aren’t aware Cape Town has a rich history steeped in jazz music. There are numerous venues across the city where soulful tunes are on display. Make sure to check out a few before you leave.
Have Some Wine
Napa Valley’s got nothing on Cape Winelands. It’s located about an hour outside of the city, but once you lay eyes upon the beautiful rolling hills of vineyards you’ll understand why it was worth the drive.
