Nestled between the Mediterranean Sea and the sub-Pyrenees mountains, the metropolis of Barcelona offers the best of both worlds. But the city itself is also a sight to be seen from areas above that border the capital of Catalonia. For views of the mountains, beaches and everything in between, head to these high points.

Montjuïc
Hike, bike, or hop the sky ride to the top of the “Jewish Mountain” just south of the city. Vistas from the castle turned prison turned tourist attraction stretch all the way to the sometimes snow-capped Pyrenees. Hike around the perimeter of the castle for endless views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Tibidabo
The sight of a scene from Vicky Christina Barcelona, there’s more to this mountain than just the sweeping views from the religious monument all the way through the city and eventually out to the sea. A church and a mini amusement park sway you after a strenuous hike or pleasant funicular ride to the top.
