We hope you’re not afraid to get a little dirty. Tough Mudder is one of the premier obstacle courses steadily becoming popular across the world and it’ssomething everyone should try at least once. Do you think you have what it takes?
Tough Mudders happen throughout the year all over the United States, so it shouldn’t be hard to find one near your area. They’re 10-12-mile mud runs where you traverse across a variety of tough obstacles, with the help of other runners, until you make it to the end. It’s okay if you can’t make it, though, you can skip out on the ones you’re not quite ready for.
It’s an extreme endurance challenge designed for the fittest of the fit. Obstacles include the infamous Electroshock Therapy where you’ll run through a series of live electrical wires that’ll zap you at every turn, the Human Hamster Wheel and the Underwater Tunnels you have to swim under in freezing water. Some courses even have you crawling through mud underneath rows of barbed wire. Better hug that ground tight.
They’ve revamped the course this year making it tougher than ever. Sign-up lasts year-round up until a few days before the actual event, but prices increase the closer you get. You can save money by signing up to volunteer by helping to set up the course or handing out water and souvenirs on race day. Volunteering can save you up to 90 percent off the ticket price.
For crossing the finish line you’ll get a nice cold beer, some flashy headbands and the pride of saying you’re one of the toughest mudders on the planet. Go ahead and give it a try, we believe in you.
