The Museum of Modern Art is located in midtown Manhattan and home to many of the world’s finest modern art. MoMA offers an extensive collection of modern and contemporary works including architecture, drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, prints, illustrated books, film and electronic media.
Many famous works by renowned artists call MoMA home: Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night, Henri Matisse’s The Dance, Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup Cans, Claude Monet’s Reflections of Clouds on the Water-Lily Pond and Salvador Dalí’s The Persistence of Memory. There are too many to name.
Classes, lectures and other special events take place frequently. Check the calendar of events for a complete listing. The free MoMA iPhone app is now available in the App Store. With the app, you can find out about current exhibitions, plan your visit, take a multimedia tour and more.
MoMA is open seven days a week: Saturday–Thursday 10:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and Friday 10:30 a.m.–8 p.m. The museum offers free admission every Friday from 4–8 p.m. Guests start lining up early for this popular offer. To avoid long lines, it’s best to arrive after 6 p.m. Admission costs $25 for adults, $18 for seniors and $14 for students with full-time current ID.
