As the solo travel trend continues to grow for adult singles in the United States, the United Kingdom’s No. 1 singles travel company expanded across the pond and launched Solos Vacations for those who want to travel the world alone.
According to the company, Google searches for “solo travel” were up almost a third last year compared to 2013 and adult singles in North America now outnumber married people. The Bureau of Labor Statistics, published in August 2014, reported 50.2 percent of American adults as single, compared to 22 percent in 1950.
Solos Vacations cater exclusively to solo travelers of all kinds, including singles, those unable to travel at the same time as their partner and people who have different interests than their friends or partners, with trips around the world led by a dedicated tour leader.
Each guest receives their own room or is able to share a twin room with a same-sex group member for a reduced price. This way, travelers can enjoy both time spent mixing and meeting others and time spent alone.

New trips available with Solo Vacations include an 11-day Grand Tour of Italy, taking guests through iconic Italian cities to check out world-renowned ancient monuments, see scenic countryside settings and enjoy delicious food; a nine-day London-to-Paris trip, featuring visits to two of Europe’s most famous cities to view famous landmarks in and outside both cities and enjoy local experiences like traditional English afternoon tea; and a 12-day Great Britain and Ireland tour, including visits to the most iconic landmarks on the two islands of Great Britain and Ireland. Prices start from about $3,299, not including airfare.
