Many small wedding details are made all the more meaningful by really bringing the bride and groom’s personalities and favorite things into focus. If the bride and groom are both avid travelers, there are many ways to showcase this throughout the wedding, but one of the easiest places to do so is the invitation.
Using maps is a great way to put some travel-themed flare into your invitation, particularly if you’re having a destination wedding that most of your attendees will have to travel for. Choose to use a map as the background for your printed info. You can even add cute color-coordinated hearts marking the different towns you and your partner grew up in or the destination of the wedding.
Mock plane tickets are another great way to show off your jetsetter lifestyle. List your wedding date, time and location, and come up with a fun title for your faux airline. Ask your designer to create the tickets in your wedding colors, and consider going vintage style for an added touch of elegance.
If you’re not ready to give up your traditional invitations just yet, you can always have fun with your save the dates or thank you cards by styling them after postcards from your wedding or honeymoon destination. Your favorite engagement or wedding photo can make a great backdrop for a personalized message: “Greetings From The Joneses In Sunny California!” Your designer can easily present you with a few options, and you’ll even save a few cents on postage if you send your postcards sans envelope.
Whatever route you decide to go, be sure to choose a design or theme that fits you and your fiancé’s personality and relationship perfectly!
