New York City is known for having many nicknames, the Big Apple, the Capital of the World, the City, the Empire and so on. One in particular, which will forever hold true, is the City That Never Sleeps.

People travel to NYC for a few days, but those fortunate enough to live in the tri-state area have the luxury of traveling to NYC as frequently as desired. The city is a trendy hot spot, as the nightlife is unlike anywhere else. With some of the best lavish bars and nightclubs, you have to see it to believe it. The party never stops in the city as bars stay open at least until 4 a.m., usually later. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to watch the sunrise as you’re grabbing a bite to eat.

July 8, some friends and I spent the night experiencing the NYC nightlife. We drove up after work on Friday to the Fairfield Inn and Suites New York Midtown Manhattan/Penn Station. We began our night at Turtle Bay on 52nd and 2nd. We spent about two hours there before heading to Bowery Electric on 2nd and Bowery, about a 15-minute drive. Around 4 a.m., we realized we worked ourselves up an appetite and luckily found Taco Box across the street. While we had a fun evening, my friends and I agreed scarfing down the tacos, chips and guac was the best decision we made all night. Saturday morning after we went to a much-needed brunch, we headed home.

Just when you thought the party was over, I drove home to turn around and drive down to Atlantic City, N.J., where I was staying with four other friends at the Borgata. I didn’t even have time to nap. When we arrived, our room was already available. We were in the Fiore suite with two queen beds. We had a large window, which covered a majority of the room. Since we were on the 21st floor, we had a view of Atlantic City’s boardwalk, which allowed us to see fireworks being shot off from Margate. We stopped for a bite to eat at The Metropolitan, one of the casual restaurants that offered contemporary and classic American dishes and an oyster bar.

Around 11 p.m., we headed downstairs to Premier Nightclub, located in the Borgata Hotel. We lost track of time and before we knew it the lights were turning on in the club at 4 a.m. Our night was not over yet as we decided to play blackjack for two hours in the casino.
