While Iran tends to end up in the news for unsavory reasons (unfounded or not) these days, it was once primarily known as the heartbeat of the Persian Empire. Today, much of the culture from this once great dynasty still remains.
Undiscovered Destinations is offering a 15-day tour of the region for those interested in discovering what made Iran such an integral part of history along the great Silk Road. The journey begins in Tehran, once the capital of Persia and now home to some of the country’s most beautiful and fascinating museums and landmarks.

Along the way you’ll also explore the city of Shiraz, full of shrines and gardens, the ancient site known as Persepolis and the desert city of Yazd. You’ll discover mosques and markets and mingle with locals who will surely be happy to sell some of their wares if you feel confident in your ability to haggle with these experts.
One of the brightest spots along the tour is the city of Isfahan, often described as Iran’s most enchanting city. You’ll also be able to stop in Imam Square, home to numerous storytellers and caravans. There’s no place in the world quite like Iran and you should certainly take the opportunity to discover such a historically significant country while you can.
