Ever wonder if you know anyone in the city you are visiting? Wish you could meet new people in an unfamiliar destination more easily? Check out Tripr, the brand-new “who’ll be there when you’re there” app, now available for download on the App store.
Developed by four Oxford graduates, the app connects people who will be in the same place at the same time before they even arrive. In just one week, more than 3,000 connections have been made around the world among festival-goers, backpackers, travelers and young professionals.
Users can choose to connect with friends, friends of friends or locals by reviewing profiles and liking or disliking a profile anonymously. If a user likes a profile, Tripr connects them to the other user.
The app was built in-house in less than eight weeks, and an Android version is currently in development.
