New York City is now home to a brand-new restaurant serving tasty Italian dishes in a subterranean space. Located within Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown West in the city’s Hudson Yards neighborhood, Catria Cucina and Bar is an 80-seat eatery offering an exclusive menu of cicchetti (Italian small plates). Led by Chef Kyle Puchir and Concrete Hospitality Group, Catria Cucina and Bar highlights the rich flavors of Italy’s Marche region alongside regional Italian wines and craft cocktails.
Small plates include olives di Fritte, also known as olives with a Calabrian chili aioli, while the pomodoro Strattu draws inspiration from a 4,000-year-old recipe blending roasted tomatoes, onions, fennel and capers, paired with house-made focaccia. The risotto Vongole, meanwhile, combines risotto, cacio e pepe and baked clams into one innovative dish. Other standout small plates and dishes include roasted Cavolfiore (made with preserved lemon aioli and agrodolce), chili-whipped ricotta, and pollo Potacchio (Marche-style braised chicken with white wine and tomato sugo). Guests can also indulge in rustic cuts of meats, like the bone-in ribeye for two with anchovy butter.
Cocktails include Copa G&T (Bombay sapphire, cherry blossom, pink peppercorn, thyme, lemon and tonic) and Rosata Spritz (Absolut vodka, rosata aperitivo, prosecco, seltzer and lemon).
During the day, this new restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch, before evening sees the restaurant transform into a chic dinner space.
