It’s already been a big year for Turkish Airlines. The carrier set a Guinness World Record for most countries flown to by an airline. It introduced new amenity kits. Now, it’s opened its largest lounge outside of Istanbul, in Tokyo.
The lounge at Narita International Airport is Turkish Airlines’ seventh international lounge. Situated in Terminal 1 South Wing, near Gate 47, this spacious lounge, still under development though partially open, will eventually measure just more than 16,000 square feet. Currently, it’s about half that size, with room for just more than 100 passengers.
Amenities at the lounge include a buffet serving Turkish, Japanese and Far Eastern fare (a similar multicultural approach is taken to the lounge’s décor). Uniquely, it’s the only airport lounge outside of Istanbul to feature a Turkish pide oven, specifically designed to cook fresh-baked Turkish flatbread each day. Guests enjoy access to daybeds, shower rooms and an infant care room, as well. WiFi is also available.
The lounge is open 7:30 a.m.–9:45 p.m. each day to Miles&Smiles Elite Plus and Elite cardholders, Miles&Smiles Elite Corporate cardholders, Star Alliance Gold members, and business- and first-class passengers flying on Star Alliance member flights.
