The new year is right around the corner, so 2025 travel planning is likely well underway. These two new flights could serve as inspiration for the upcoming year’s travel list.
Fiji Airways, Fiji’s national carrier, recently launched its longest non-stop service from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport to Fiji, operating thrice weekly on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
“This new route significantly enhances Fiji Airways’ connectivity in North America, making it easier than ever for Texans and U.S. travelers to explore Fiji’s pristine landscapes, rich culture, and warm hospitality, while also providing seamless access to the wider South Pacific region, Australia, New Zealand and beyond,” said Andre Viljoen, CEO and managing director, Fiji Airways.
An Airbus A350-900WXB aircraft serves the 13-hour flight, accommodating 334 passengers and a business-class cabin with lie-flat, aisle-access seats. The airline also recently unveiled new Samsonite amenity kits for business-class passengers.
In another island nation, Azul Airlines recently launched a new flight between Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Curaçao International Airport, running four times per week.
“The expansion of Azul’s flight routes to Curaçao marks the continued success and momentum of our island’s growth. Year to date, we have had a 26% increase in visitors from the United States and a 72% increase in Brazilian visitors compared to last year,” stated Muryad de Bruin, counterpart director, Curaçao Tourist Board. “In Florida, the Broward County market has been on our radar for quite some time as a natural extension of the interest we’ve seen from Miami and the success of existing daily routes offered from Miami International Airport. We’re ecstatic to end the year on this high note with the ongoing success of the island resulting from collaborative efforts across our tourism and economic development partners.”
The route will depart Florida for Curaçao on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; the other segment will take off on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
